We are pleased to announce the release of Visual Casino 8 (VC8) — a significant upgrade to Biometrica’s core casino surveillance platform. As many of you know, Visual Casino has powered casino surveillance for more than 25 years, serving as the digital foundation for risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and incident response at tribal and commercial casinos, regulators, and gaming commissions across North America and the Caribbean.

VC8 represents a powerful step forward in that legacy. It enhances speed, searchability, and security — while laying the foundation for the next generation of real-time data tools and casino intelligence.

What’s New in VC8?

• Upgraded Framework
  Migrated from .NET 3.5 to .NET 9.0, delivering dramatically improved performance, security, and compatibility with modern systems.
• Enhanced Facial Recognition & Search
  Customers now benefit from faster, sharper and upgraded facial recognition algorithms, improved matching logic, and an enhanced search experience within SSIN. A more sensitive facial detection engine is in testing and will be rolled out shortly.
  Note: These FR enhancements currently apply to SSIN only. CID and X-LST will be transitioned to remote infrastructure in a future release to support these same upgrades.
• Bulk Import Tool for X-LST
  Upload and manage custom exclusion and watchlists at scale, including photo imports for patrons and employees.
• View Multiple SSIN Details
  Open multiple SSIN Detail windows simultaneously without disruption — no more losing your place or toggling back and forth.
• Report Templates Now Editable
  VC8 stores reports in an accessible folder so you can customize layouts for property-specific formats or compliance needs.
• Improved SSIN Workflow
  • SSIN creation is now non-blocking — you can keep browsing while entering an alert.
  • New local encrypted cache for SSINs improves load time.
  • Improved audit trails for SSIN access and alert activity.
• Demo Mode for Training
  Train new team members without live data risk using the integrated demo environment.
• Better UI & Error Handling
  Layout fixes, improved report loading, and stronger exception handling for smoother user experience.
• VC7 Compatibility
  VC8 installs side-by-side with Visual Casino 7, allowing seamless transition and testing before full migration.

Rollout Timeline

• VC8 is available now for deployment across eligible properties.
• A hotfix release is scheduled for this week to address known minor bugs in the new X-LST import module and report editor.
• Customers currently on VC7 can begin transitioning now.

Note: If your organization is still using the legacy connector and does not yet have access to UMbRA, our 100% law enforcement-sourced database, you will require a backend upgrade before proceeding.
